AutIRC Mobile site

Welcome to the official website for AutIRC

Thanks for dropping by, this is the official website for AutIRC, the IRC network designed with safe chatting in mind for everyone on the Autism Spectrum, our aim is to allow freedom of chatting to everyone on the spectrum, only those causing trouble or causing a danger to the network will be banned from the network, none of this "you're banned because we don't want you here", we don't believe in operating a network in that kind of way, so no matter who you are, you are welcome provided you stick to the rules

We may be for people on the Autism spectrum but we also allow NTs (those that are not on the Autism spectrum) to chat here too, as we believe that we shouldn't be exclusively for those on the spectrum, though if you are on the spectrum and don't feel comfortable talking in a channel with NTs, you can set your own channels up, there are instructions to do this on this website.

We also have a facebook group and a twitter profile, links are on the left for these and a feed of the twitter profile is also on the right

we also have a blog at http://www.autirc.me, which is there for updates of the goings on here at AutIRC towers, feel free to have a read, a feed is provided on the left of latest posts from the blog

Thank you for using AutIRC :)

"Like"? +1? both? you choose :)
Posted by admin on Tuesday, January 17 @ 16:17:44 GMT (172 reads)
Information and announcements You can now "like" or +1 AutIRC by using the two icons under the logo at the top of the page, you do need to have an account to the appropriate social networking sites to "like" or +1 us, you'll be asked to log in to these when you click the icon, so why not "like" or +1 AutIRC today, or you could do both!

Our first big change for 2012 is the inclusion of the social icons, keep watching this space, there are more things planned

Thank you for using AutIRC :)

Belated Happy New Year
Posted by admin on Thursday, January 05 @ 08:48:02 GMT (211 reads)
Information and announcements We'd like to wish all users of AutIRC a very Happy New Year, although a little belated due to other things getting in the way

AutIRC had a lot of good things happen in 2011, in particular the retrieval of autirc.info from the thief that stole it and misused it, and the increase in users on the network, we hope this trend continues well into 2012 and beyond

From everyone at AutIRC

Hard disk replacement
Posted by admin on Friday, August 26 @ 21:42:31 BST (445 reads)
Information and announcements The hard disk in the web server hosting this and other sites has been replaced with a more reliable 100GB hard disk as the previous 40GB disk that was in place was beginning to fail and constantly get remounted as a read-only filesystem causing issues for some services on the server

The new hard disk should have cured much of this until it too begins to fail, hopefully it should run for a long time :)

Thank you for using AutIRC :)

Atheme Services upgrade
Posted by admin on Thursday, June 23 @ 15:58:10 BST (375 reads)
The Atheme services package that runs on AutIRC has now been updated to the latest stable release, the previous running version had not been updated since the formation of AutIRC in 2007, all registered nicks and channels remain intact so you can continue to use them without reregistering

Thank you for using AutIRC :)

Time for celebrations...
Posted by admin on Wednesday, June 22 @ 11:41:43 BST (309 reads)
News from the AutIRC team Indeed we are celebrating here at AutIRC towers, just over two years since it was stolen and misused, we now have possession of our original domain, autirc.info, we would like to thank the good folks at GoDaddy.com for helping us capture the domain as soon as it expired

This is one of the biggest things to happen to AutIRC in it's 4 year history, so let's celebrate the reclamation of what is rightfully ours and may the next 4 years be even better :)

Thank you for using the genuine AutIRC

Website back online
Posted by admin on Sunday, April 24 @ 21:08:25 BST (474 reads)
Information and announcements Apologies for the website absence for a while, as you may know the original hard disk from the web server pretty much died (I'm guessing the innards seized up from years of use, a replacement hard disk took a little longer to procure, but we have one now in the webserver at AutIRC towers

All services should be back to normal soon

Unscheduled site downtime
Posted by admin on Tuesday, January 25 @ 17:47:24 GMT (498 reads)
Downtime warnings A failure of the web server yesterday knocked the website offline as well as our podcasts, javachat, CGI chat, and Mibbit chat, this did not have a major impact on our IRC server which continued to run without incident. I aim to get the rest of the services back online within the next couple of days, my apologies for this and thank you for using AutIRC
